
A tragic collision on Interstate 49 near Asseff Road early in the morning has left a Coushatta man dead. Louisiana State Police reported to the scene around 3:40 a.m. to find that 31-year-old Travion Miller had been killed in a two-vehicle incident. According to the Louisiana State Police, Miller was driving a 2024 Mack Tractor northbound when his vehicle strayed from the road, hitting an unoccupied parked vehicle, before traveling up an embankment and overturning.
The initial findings of an investigation are that the cause of the crash is still being looked into. The Louisiana State Police have stated that while impairment is not suspected, standard toxicology samples were nevertheless taken and submitted for analysis. The official statement released noted, "Impairment is not suspected; however, standard toxicology samples were collected and submitted for analysis."
It’s unclear whether Miller was wearing a seat belt because the crash was so severe. He died at the scene. The investigation is still ongoing, and Louisiana State Police are using this moment to remind drivers to stay alert and follow traffic laws. They emphasized that while some crashes can’t be survived, basic safety steps can often save lives.
