As the holiday season winds down in Creve Coeur, the process of undressing the season is already being orchestrated. According to a social media announcement by the City of Creve Coeur, it's time to say farewell to your Christmas trees, as Republic Services has scheduled a pickup.
In an effort to streamline the post-holiday clean-up, Republic Services has set a specific timeframe for residents to part with their festive firs. "Republic Services will make a single pass through the city during the first full week of January to collect Christmas trees for disposal," the City of Creve Coeur posted. Trees should be placed curbside on the regular service day from Monday, January 5, through Friday, January 9, 2026. There's no need for registration or special requests, this service is all inclusive, extended to all residents who wish to participate.
For trees taller than six feet, residents must cut them in half. To ensure proper and safe processing, all ornaments, tinsel, lights, and other decorative items must be removed before placing the trees at the curb. According to the City of Creve Coeur, "all decorations and lights must be removed before collection."
Residents enrolled in the yard waste service program can include up to two Christmas trees with their regular yard waste during any collection week, not just the single-pass event. Trees should be stripped of all decorations before being placed out for curbside pickup.
