Get ready to deck the halls with boughs of holly – and a lot more – as the Latino Cultural Center (LCC), in collaboration with Texas Folklife, is all set to celebrate the festive season. Mark your calendars for "Fiestas Navideñas," a free event slated for December 14, from 2 to 6 p.m., aiming to spotlight holiday traditions across Latinx cultures in the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex.
An evolution from the original "Las Posadas" celebration at the LCC, this year's gathering has broadened its horizons, thanks to the strategic partnership forged with Texas Folklife. The event promises an array of activities and performances, including seasonal music, culturally significant live performances, and hands-on craft activities for those eager to immerse themselves in Latin American holiday traditions, according to an announcement from the City of Dallas. A feast for the senses awaits with festive food, drinks, and, not to forget, complimentary candy bags for the little ones (grab them while they last).
Those who are intrigued by the cultural splendor on offer can find additional insights into the event and both organizations' longstanding efforts at the LCC's website, or by visiting Texas Folklife online. The LCC also encourages the press to join the fray. There will be opportunities for interviews and plenty of B-roll footage for your visual storytelling needs. Just make sure to RSVP through the link provided in their media note.
