Detroit residents should prepare for a mix of weather today, with mostly cloudy skies and a high near 42 degrees. West southwest winds will be brisk at 6 to 11 mph, gusting up to 22 mph, and tonight temperatures will drop to around 30 degrees with south winds gusting as high as 20 mph, according to the National Weather Service.
On Thursday, rain will begin mainly after 1 p.m., with a high near 48 degrees and a south wind at 14 to 17 mph, gusting up to 33 mph; "Chance of precipitation is 100%," with rainfall between a tenth and a quarter of an inch. Thursday night, winds will shift to west southwest at 13 to 16 mph, bringing scattered rain and snow showers with less than half an inch of new snow expected by early morning, as reported by the National Weather Service.
On Friday, there will be scattered snow showers mostly before 1 p.m., with "Mostly cloudy," skies, a high near 30 degrees, west winds at 15–18 mph and gusts up to 33 mph, and a 40% chance of precipitation. Friday night through next Tuesday will remain mostly cloudy, except for Sunday which will be mostly sunny with a high near 31 degrees. Nighttime temperatures will generally be in the low to mid-20s, and on Tuesday, the high is expected to reach around 40 degrees, as stated by the National Weather Service.
