
A hit-and-run on a quiet stretch of McCoy Avenue turned deadly last Saturday in San Jose, where a man was struck and killed, and the driver kept going, police said.
Officers were called to the 4900 block of McCoy Avenue at about 6:40 PM and found the man in the roadway with major injuries. Medical personnel pronounced him dead at the scene. San Jose police say the investigation is ongoing and, so far, they have not released any description of the vehicle involved.
According to NBC Bay Area, detectives are working to stitch together what happened using witness accounts and any available surveillance or doorbell camera footage from the neighborhood.
Police seek tips from witnesses
The San José Police Department is asking anyone who saw the collision or has information about the fleeing driver to contact its Traffic Investigations Unit at (408) 277-4654. Tipsters who prefer to remain anonymous can use the P3TIPS mobile app or contact Silicon Valley Crime Stoppers, which may offer rewards for information that leads to an arrest.

Investigators will review video, photos, and witness statements as they work to identify both the vehicle and the driver involved in the fatal hit-and-run. The victim has not yet been publicly identified, and the case remains an active investigation, according to NBC Bay Area.
