In a recent turn of events, the Dyer County Sheriff's Office has made an arrest linked to the disappearance of several juveniles. According to a social media post from the Sheriff's Office, Brendon Puckett, on state probation for sexual battery involving a minor, has been charged with multiple counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor after two missing juveniles were found to have been staying with him. A third juvenile was also discovered in Puckett's residence upon his arrest on the morning of December 16, 2025.
The initial investigation led officers to Puckett's doorstep, where the discovery of the third minor added a new twist to the case. Sheriff Jeff Box highlighted the gravity of the situation, asserting, "The safety and well-being of juveniles is our top priority and I am proud of my team. We are committed to protecting young people in our community, and these charges reflect our ongoing efforts to hold individuals accountable for their actions." This commitment was shown through the swift action of Dyer County investigators who worked diligently to locate the missing juveniles.
With the case still active, further scrutiny is being applied to the circumstances that allowed these minors to end up in Puckett's care. The Sheriff's Office is not ruling out the possibility of additional charges as the investigation continues to unfold. The swift response by the officials has been instrumental in the current development of the incident, with proper investigative protocols being followed to ensure a thorough examination of the events.
As part of the ongoing effort to resolve the case fully, the Dyer County Sheriff’s Office is asking the general public for any additional information. They have expressly reached out to the community, looking for assistance as the investigation progresses. Anyone with knowledge pertinent to the case is urged to get in touch with Investigator Jeremy Caldwell at the Criminal Investigation Division by calling 731-285-2802. Sheriff Box has extended his thanks to the community for their cooperation, emphasizing the vital role that vigilance plays in the protection and safety of juveniles.
