Atlanta police responded to a shooting at 25 Peyton Pl SW in the early hours Yesterday. Officers arrived at the scene around 2:58 am to discover a male victim with a gunshot wound. The injured individual was subsequently rushed to the hospital by Grady EMS and is said to be in critical condition, according to a report by the Atlanta Police Department.
The initial investigation suggests the shooting may be linked to a break-in. Police briefly detained a male resident at the property; he told officers that his home had previously been broken into. Police recovered two handguns in his possession, and a crowbar found outside the front door supports the possibility of a break-in attempt.
The investigation is ongoing. No arrests have been made, and the identity of the shooter remains unknown.
