Two East Boston residents, identified as Julian Moguil Abril, 33, and Juan Moguil Abril, 30, were arrested on Tuesday on a raft of drug-related charges, according to a report by the Boston Police Department. The arrests were a direct result of a drug investigation spurred by complaints related to illegal drug activity around Maverick Square.
After obtaining and executing search warrants at 60 Lubec Street, officers were able to quickly apprehend the target who reportedly was seen standing outside of the location. Inside, they discovered and seized an array of drugs, including approximately half a kilo of cocaine, pounds of marijuana, psychedelic mushrooms, LSD tab sheets, ketamine, and MDMA. At the same scene, officers found about $12,000 in cash. The bust was made even more severe by the proximity of the location to a school, which was in session at the time of the raid—a factor that led to additional charges, as reported by the Boston Police Department.
Both Julian and Juan Moguil Abril are slated to face charges at the East Boston District Court. Julian has been charged with trafficking cocaine over 200 grams, possession with intent to distribute Class A, two counts of possession with intent to distribute Class B, possession with intent to distribute Class C, possession with intent to distribute Class D, and drug violation near a school/park. Juan is charged with trafficking cocaine over 200 grams, possession with intent to distribute Class B, possession with intent to distribute Class D, and a drug violation near a school/park.
