In a heartening showcase of community spirit, the Eden Prairie Police Department (EPPD) officers and reserve officers loaded up their vehicles last Friday with a cargo of joy: toys and games destined for children in need. Their stop: the KARE11 studios in Golden Valley, where they joined forces with other Twin Cities law enforcement to hand over the collected donations to the U.S. Marine Corps Reserves, as reported by the City of Eden Prairie.
The delivery was part of the annual Toys for Tots campaign, a program dedicated to ensuring that youngsters who might otherwise go without find a present waiting for them during the holiday season. This year's effort by the EPPD brought together toys from across the city, with collection points stationed at the City Center, the Community Center, and the Senior Center, as per the City of Eden Prairie.
Moreover, a special collection event at Eden Prairie Center on Nov. 22 saw shoppers contributing to the cause, further padding out the haul of gifts. In a statement made by the Eden Prairie official website, the authorities expressed gratitude: "Thank you to everyone who donated to Toys for Tots this year!"
