The Eden Prairie Police Department has sworn in a new face to its law enforcement team. Chief Matt Sackett officiated the oath of office for Officer Asher Koch. Koch, who graduated from Spectrum High School located in Elk River, completed his law enforcement certificate at Rasmussen University before joining the force, as reported by the City of Eden Prairie.
Officer Koch will be immersing himself in the department's field training program over the next several months, which typically spans 3 to 4 months, as per the City of Eden Prairie. The program, being quite hands-on, will prepare him to patrol independently, stewarded by more seasoned officers.
