
El Paso has witnessed a surge of vehicular violence in a road rage incident that escalated to gunfire, according to a report released by the El Paso Police Department. The altercation occurred on Sunday, December 28, when Jair Armando Rodriguez was involved in aggressive driving behavior that spiraled into a collision and shooting. The victim managed to escape the scene with no severe injuries.
The El Paso Police Department's Gang Unit stepped in to assist in the investigation of this harrowing event. What started as a typical confrontation between two drivers swiftly turned into an aggressive chase, culminating in violence, as relayed by the El Paso Police Department. The escape of the victim, fortunately without serious injury, was a narrow one.
After the shooting, Rodriguez promptly fled the scene, only to soon be involved in another traffic collision. His abandoned vehicle was found, and through diligent and coordinated police work, Rodriguez was identified and later apprehended without further incident. An arrest warrant for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon was subsequently issued, securing Rodriguez's placement behind bars at the El Paso County Detention Facility.
