El Paso County saw swift justice on Thursday when a 25-year-old woman was detained in connection with the theft of a work truck in Fabens, as per reports from the El Paso County Sheriff's Office (EPCSO). The incident, initially reported to deputies around 12:45 p.m., took place in the 200 block of Northwest G, where the victim's vehicle, estimated to be worth $25,000, was declared stolen, KTSM reports.
In a collaborative effort to retrieve the stolen property, deputies along with the El Paso County Constable’s Office for Precinct 6 located and intercepted the truck while it was traveling southbound at the 1000 block of South Horizon; this occurred a mere few minutes before 2 p.m., demonstrating the quick response by law enforcement in locating the vehicle which was taken just under an hour earlier, as highlighted by CBS4 Local.
The individual driving the truck at the time of the recovery was identified as Vanessa Ronnebaum, the same woman now charged with the theft of the vehicle, as confirmed by EPCSO. Following her apprehension, she was taken into custody without incident and charged, consequently booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility on a $3,500 bond, as detailed by KVIA.
