A confrontation in El Paso County has led to the arrest of a woman on charges that include attempted homicide. According to a report from the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office, on the night of November 30, deputies were called to a residence in the 1600 block of Maxwell Street after a 911 call suggested a domestic violence incident was unfolding.
Upon arrival, deputies found 31-year-old Amanda Fahey, an injured adult male, and a small child at the scene. It was determined that Fahey and the man were involved in a verbal altercation that escalated when Fahey allegedly used a kitchen knife to seriously injure the man's arm, necessitating immediate medical attention. The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office stated that the incident "sounded as if the female was yelling for help" during the initial call. Despite the chaos, deputies managed to quickly secure the scene.
Medical support was provided by Stratmoor Hills Fire Department personnel, who transported the injured man to a local hospital. Fahey was subsequently arrested, with charges against her including domestic violence, second-degree assault, and child abuse. "Acts of violence within families create deep harm, and our deputies responded with urgency and professionalism to protect everyone involved," Sheriff Joseph Roybal mentioned, commending his team for their effectiveness in handling the volatile situation.
Currently, Amanda Fahey remains in custody at the El Paso County Jail, being held without bond. The Sheriff's Office expressed commitment to holding offenders accountable and ensuring victims receive needed support and protection – a stance mirrored by the broader law enforcement community, which continually strives to quickly address and resolve such regrettable incidents.
