Revving up for a good cause, the Ellis County community is hosting its 41st Annual Toy Run today, an event that sees motorcyclists from across the region hitting the streets to support local children during the holiday season. The Ellis County Sheriff's Office has issued a traffic alert, informing residents about the routes and advising drivers to be cautious.
According to the social media post from the sheriff's office, motorcyclists will kickstart the event at Main and 8th Street in Midlothian. From there, they'll throttle through town onto Hwy 287, making their way through Midlothian, Waxahachie, and finally cruising into Ennis, where the run concludes at Sokol Hall off Hwy 34. Drivers in these areas can expect increased motorcycle traffic and should prepare for potential delays.
Among the affected routes, Main St in Midlothian, Midlothian Pkwy at 287, US Hwy 287 from Midlothian to Ennis, Ennis Avenue through Ennis, TX, and I-45 at Ennis Ave & Hwy 34, as well as Hwy 34 at Sokol Hall, will see a significant influx of bikers. The sheriff's office cautions those traveling in these areas to use extra caution and watch for the presence of motorcycles on the road.
