If you're planning to cruise along Interstate 30 or hit FM 548 this coming week, prepare for some delays. According to the Rockwall County website, there will be lane closures and construction activities that might add a few extra minutes to your commute.
First on the list, the I-30 Eastbound Frontage Road stretching from Circle Dr. to Erby Campbell will undergo a flagging operation starting on Friday, December 12, until Saturday, December 13. Activities will include the installation of temporary pavement marking, and it's all happening overnight from 9 PM to 5 AM.
Come Monday, December 15, through Saturday, December 20, it's FM 548's turn. Both northbound and southbound stretches near Pond Branch will face a flagging operation from 9 AM to 3 PM. Crews will be busy with embankment work, removals, and bridge activities, all necessary evils in the name of infrastructure improvements.
During the same period, the I-30 Eastbound Frontage Road isn't out of the woods yet—from FM 551 to Erby Campbell. The flagging operation will continue, this time focusing on unloading drainage boxes and installing low-profile concrete barriers, again from 9 AM to 3 PM.
