Yesterday, a man created turmoil on Travion Court in Fairfield when he allegedly fired several rounds in the street, leading to a rapid police response from multiple agencies. According to a social media post from the Fairfield Police Department, the incident occurred around 6:23 PM after they received initial reports of the disturbance.
The situation escalated when residents alerted responding officers to the presence of a gun at the scene. Almost concurrently, the Fairfield Police were carrying out an unrelated traffic stop in the same region. Upon the arrival of additional officers, one of them observed the suspect discharging several rounds. Despite the potential for tragedy, it appears no one was injured. The suspect then fled the scene, prompting a coordinated manhunt involving local and regional law enforcement.
Assistance arrived from the California Highway Patrol, Suisun Police Department, Vacaville Police Department, and deputies from the Solano County Sheriff’s Office. In the effort to locate the errant gunman, even a CHP helicopter was deployed. The aerial support proved effective as it spotted the suspect attempting to hide in a nearby field.
The police approach was cautious but determined, and they managed to arrest the individual without additional drama, ensuring public safety, an aspect the department emphasized. "There is no threat to the public at this time and the investigation is ongoing. Additional details will be forthcoming," the Fairfield Police Department expressed in their post.
