A Falmouth man has been arrested for an alleged burglary that occurred at a Lakeville hardware store, with an estimated $3,000 worth of power tools reported as stolen. The incident took place last Sunday night, and the Lakeville Police Department was swift to respond after a burglary alarm brought them to the scene.

According to a statement obtained by JGPR News, officers discovered an unattended vehicle left running behind the business, which indicated a possible break-in. A search of the premises led to the discovery of various power tools, including chainsaws and compressors, scattered behind the establishment. Within a short time frame, officials conducted an investigatory stop on a nearby rideshare vehicle.

40-year-old Kevin Lord from Falmouth, identified as a passenger in the rideshare, was charged with "Breaking and Entering a Building During the Nighttime with Intent to Commit a Felony" and "Malicious Destruction of Property Over $1,200," according to Lakeville Police Chief Matthew Perkins, as reported by JGPR News. The arrest was made without incident, and the Middleborough Police K-9 unit and Plymouth County Sheriff’s Office’s Bureau of Criminal Investigation lent their assistance at the site of an alleged crime.

Following the arrest, Boston 25 News reported that Lord faced arraignment yesterday at the Wareham District Court. The case remains under active investigation, with law enforcement officials continuing to gather details surrounding the burglary.
