
A tragic incident occurred early Monday morning on December 15, when a commercial vehicle was involved in a deadly rollover crash on Loop 303. Arizona Department of Public Safety officials confirmed that the accident happened at approximately 5:35 a.m. near milepost 134, just two miles east of Lake Pleasant Parkway in Phoenix, according to a statement released by a DPS spokesperson and obtained by FOX 10 Phoenix.
The vehicle in question was a commercial truck-tractor pulling a semitrailer that rolled over on the westbound SR-303, the spokesperson detailed. Following the incident, authorities did not release the identity of the individual who died in the crash, leaving an important piece of information out of public knowledge for the time being. The broader consequences of the crash affected traffic considerably, with the Arizona Department of Transportation reporting the closure of southbound lanes on Loop 303 at 51st Avenue for several hours due to the incident.
Lanes remained closed until 11:19 a.m. when they were finally reopened, as stated in coverage by 12News. DPS confirmed that there was at least one fatality as a result of the rollover.
