
El Paso County witnessed a tragic motor vehicle collision that resulted in one fatality and left other individuals hospitalized yesterday. The El Paso County Sheriff's Office released information through social media, detailing the incident that occurred early in the morning on Alameda Avenue.
According to the post from El Paso County Sheriff Oscar Ugarte, deputies responded to the crash site at the 17000 block of Alameda Avenue at approximately 5:29 a.m. An initial examination of the scene led to the involvement of the Sheriff’s Office Special Traffic Investigators, who took over the investigation. The collision involved a red Chevrolet Silverado, a black Toyota SUV, and a gray Dodge pickup. In an attempt to pass the Silverado, the Toyota SUV caused a head-on collision with the oncoming Dodge, which was later also struck by the Silverado.
The aftermath of the accident necessitated medical attention for drivers of the Chevrolet Silverado and the Dodge pickup, both of whom were subsequently transported to a local hospital. The situation took a grave turn for the driver of the Toyota SUV, identified as 54-year-old Maria De Cisneros Romo of Tornillo, Texas, who was pronounced deceased at the scene. The sheriff's post confirmed that the next of kin had been notified of the loss.
