Crews from the Memphis Fire Department (MFD) responded to a large fire at The Hamlets Condominiums, located off Clarke Road near Mount Moriah Road in the Fox Meadows area, last Friday evening. According to Action News 5, a firefighter and a civilian were injured and have been hospitalized with non-critical injuries. The fire remained active as of 8 p.m. on the day of the incident.
The fire drew significant attention from residents, with onlookers observing the intensity of the flames. A video shared by WREG viewer Mike Harper showed a building at the condominium complex fully engulfed. Officials reported that crews responded promptly and worked to contain the rapidly spreading fire. Additional footage showed firefighters actively working to extinguish the blaze.
The Memphis Fire Department stated that more information will be provided as it becomes available. The firefighter and the civilian were both taken to a local hospital for treatment and are expected to recover fully. The specific details of the civilian’s injuries have not been disclosed.
