Last night, firefighters from multiple departments converged to battle a large blaze in a building near New Hampshire's Loon Mountain. The flames, which erupted on Crooked Mountain Road in Lincoln, called for a third-alarm response as local firefighting units rushed to contain the inferno beginning around 7 pm. According to a social media post by Campton-Thornton Fire Rescue, crews worked through the night to quell the fire.
Campton-Thornton Fire Rescue detailed the assistance provided by its personnel, who were instrumental in establishing a water shuttling operation. They laid out "approximately 600 feet of supply line from the scene to a parking lot," facilitating a crucial element in their firefighting efforts. The water was shuttled between a fill site on Profile Drive in Woodstock and the dump site at Pemi Base Camp parking lot. Firefighters from Lancaster NH Fire Department, Bath, to Rumney Fire Department, and Plymouth Fire-Rescue were among those shuttling water.
The post further revealed that the Campton-Thornton crews weren't relieved until midnight, after which they returned to their station to perform maintenance on their equipment. "After returning to the station to repack hose and wash airpacks and fire gear, Engine 3 was in service at around 1:30 am," the Fire Rescue team shared on their Facebook account.
