As Gatlinburg prepares for its New Year's Eve revelry, the Gatlinburg Police Department has issued a traffic advisory to inform the public and visitors of road closures designed to ensure the safety of all attending.
As reported by the police department, beginning at 10:30 p.m. on December 31, the closures will affect several roads within the city limits, including Airport Road from its intersection with Parkway to Cloverleaf Lane and Parkway itself from Reagan Drive and Maples Lane up to LeConte Street.
Drivers planning to navigate the city during the evening are advised to expect detours, specifically available via River Road. While the streets close to give way to the night's festivities, individuals keen on joining the celebrations are encouraged to plan ahead for travel arrangements.
