A grim event unfolded at a local eatery in Griffin as a dispute among patrons turned fatal. FOX 5 Atlanta reports that yesterday morning, Griffin Police Department answered a call regarding a shooting at 1500 Williamson Zebulon Road. Upon arrival, they discovered a man with a life-threatening gunshot wound to the neck. The man was promptly transported to Wellstar Spalding Hospital, where, unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries.
The altercation that led to the shooting involved approximately 10 individuals, and the incident quickly escalated into an exchange of gunfire. According to Atlanta News First, a 28-year-old male was killed in the midst of this chaos. In connection with the case, police have apprehended and charged 25-year-old Daulton Statham with murder, and he is presently being held at Spalding County Jail.
While the identity of the victim has yet to be disclosed by officials, the investigation into the tragic event continues.
