
The Hillsboro Police Department reported a disturbance with a weapon that ended fatally last Saturday afternoon. According to KPTV, officers were called to a residence near Southeast Tualatin Valley Highway and Southeast 18th Avenue at about 2:45 p.m. They discovered one person dead inside a car parked in the driveway of the home. The circumstances surrounding the death have yet to be disclosed, but a suspect was quickly identified by the police.
Subsequent to the discovery, an arrest was made around 4:30 p.m., when the suspect was apprehended during a traffic stop near Southeast Brookwood Avenue and Southeast Davis Road, as mentioned by KGW. This followed an earlier report that the suspect was barricaded within a nearby residence while armed. The standoff seemingly concluded with the traffic stop arrest, though the details of the events remain sparse.
While the name of the victim and the suspect are being withheld, authorities have assured that there is no present danger to the local community. The KATU news report indicates that the investigation is ongoing, and further details may be released as it progresses. The Washington County Sheriff’s Office Tactical Negotiations Team assisted in the operation that led to the suspect's arrest.
