Drivers and local businesses in Holbrook are experiencing smoother rides and sidewalks following a pavement upgrade on a critical section of Business Route 40. The Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) has completed a $2.1 million improvement project on the mile-long stretch known as Navajo Boulevard, effectively rejuvenating a main artery that not only connects over 50 businesses but also serves as a link to Interstate 40 and the Navajo Nation.
The revitalization effort, which kicked off in September 2024, encompassed the replacement of tired asphalt between Crestview Drive and Joy Nevin Avenue. In addition, crews were tasked with laying down new concrete sections across B-40 at both Florida and Erie streets.
