
Early Wednesday, Holyoke Police arrested a man following the discovery of a stolen vehicle, according to the department’s social media. Police Chief Brian Keenan said Officer Nathan Cote received the initial tip, and Officer Luis Rivera located the car on Lyman Street, leading to a traffic stop and arrest at Walnut and Dwight Streets.
The driver, 29-year-old Johansen Silva of Holyoke, faces multiple charges, including receiving a stolen vehicle and driving with a suspended or revoked license. Authorities also found over $1,100 and a quantity of marijuana in Silva’s possession, according to the Holyoke Police Department.
The stolen vehicle was recovered just hours after it was reported, allowing authorities to return it to its owner. Silva was arrested, and the recovered property was secured by local law enforcement.
The specifics of Silva’s arraignment have not been released. He faces multiple charges, and more details are expected as the case moves through the legal system.
