In the quiet of a late November night, the routine of Horizon City Police Department officers patrolling the streets led to an encounter with a driver whose night would take a turn for the worse. According to a social media post by the Horizon City Police Department, on Saturday, November 29, Andres Daniel Martinez was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated (DWI) after being pulled over in the 14900 block of Eastlake Boulevard. The officers, during their duty, noticed signs of intoxication from Martinez; this led to his on-scene evaluation, which in turn, ended in his custody for the said charge.
Details shared by the Horizon City Police Department's Facebook page indicate that the incident occurred on Saturday, around 12:30 AM. The substance of the matter is not just the arrest but also serves as a stark reminder, the consequences of driving under the influence are ever-present, and the thin blue line watches, waits, ready to uphold the sobriety of our streets.
Martinez did not evanesce into the night without consequence; a breath sample confirmed he possessed levels over the legal limit, leading to his transportation to the El Paso County Detention Facility and a subsequent booking on a DWI charge. He now faces a $1,000 bond, standing as an economic echo of his choices.
