
A female hiker was injured on the Lanikai Pillbox Trail on Sunday. The Honolulu Fire Department responded to a call shortly after 8 a.m. The woman, in her 20s, injured her lower leg while hiking with a partner and was unable to continue down the trail, according to Hawaii News Now.
Rescue crews reached the hiker at about 8:23 a.m. The first team hiked to her location, stabilized her, and prepared her for transport, as reported by KHON2. Other units secured a landing zone for the extraction. Emergency responders provided basic life support at the scene.
Air 1 airlifted the injured hiker to a nearby landing area, where she was transferred to Emergency Medical Services at about 9 a.m. Authorities said her condition has not been released, and the rescue involved multiple agencies.
