The series kicks off with the Community Holiday Fest, slated for Thursday, December 11 at Legends Center, located at 5130 Soutel Dr. from 5:30-7:30PM. Although the event is free, the public is encouraged to register in advance. That's not all for Jacksonville residents—especially not for those with a penchant for quirky holiday traditions. The Holly Jolly Christmas & Ugly Sweater Contest promises to be a highlight, taking place at the Cuba Hunter, 4380 Bedford Rd. on Saturday, December 13 from 10AM to 2PM. Here, participants don a eye-poppingly garish knitwear in the hopes of snagging the coveted title in the Ugly Sweater Contest.
As the holiday season approaches its peak, the Community Winter Festival at Kennedy Center, 1133 Ionia St., will provide another opportunity to revel in holiday spirit. This event, scheduled for Thursday, December 18 from 5-7PM, offers a suite of festive fun, with the additional allure of "a few surprises," as teased by the organizers. Whether it's the promise of Santa's cameo or the warmth of community bonds—there's something inherently magnetic about these gatherings.
