Local law enforcement officers recently took 27 students on a special shopping trip at the Target on Roosevelt Boulevard. According to a social media post from the department, each student received $150 to spend on toys and essential items and was paired with an officer to assist with their shopping. The event aimed to provide students with a positive experience during the holiday season.
The shopping trip also offered officers an opportunity to engage with students one-on-one, fostering connections and encouraging positive interactions between law enforcement and the community. Officers guided their paired students through the store, helping them select items while offering support and conversation throughout the experience.
Funding for the event came from a donation made possible through a partnership between Target and JaxPAL.
