Jefferson County, Missouri, offices will be closed for the Christmas holiday. In a social media post, the county stated, "Our office will be closed on Wednesday, December 24; Thursday, December 25; and Friday, December 26." Payments and certain services remain available through alternative channels during the closure.
For residents using a drop box, Jefferson County has one available at "the front of the building on the right-hand side of the doors," according to the social media post. Envelopes should be sealed with the sender’s name clearly marked, and receipts will be mailed the following business day.
Residents can also make payments online through the county’s website. Receipts are sent via email and followed by a mailed paper receipt once business resumes. "Online payments are credited the next business day," the Jefferson County noted. A processing fee applies for online transactions.
Residents needing clarification on their bills can call 636-797-5406 or visit the county’s website for guidance on obtaining their tax bill, even during the holiday closures.
