This staffing update comes following his latest role in Lexington, N.C., where Geis was in charge of essential city services like water, wastewater, electricity, and recycling, among others.
Ball expressed confidence in the new hire, stating to Johnson City's official news portal that, "We are pleased to welcome Nick to Johnson City. His experience overseeing complex municipal operations will support our organization as we continue strengthening services, and we look forward to the leadership he will provide in this role." Geis carries with him almost a decade's worth of experience from the City of Winston-Salem, where he navigated through various directorial positions. Prior to his experience in Lexington, his duties spread across fleet services to property and facilities management, with earlier roles assisting with financial analytics within the Sanitation Department. These positions have equipped him with a nuanced perspective on the multifaceted nature of city administration.
