In the early hours of Tuesday morning, a 2009 Hyundai Elantra was involved in a collision with a parked car near the 7000 block of SW Taylors Ferry Road in Tigard, as reported by the Washington County Sheriff’s Office. Witnesses at the scene described how the driver and three occupants fled the crash site, attempting to elude authorities.

Following the incident, Washington County Sheriff's deputies and Tigard Police Department officers established containment of the area. In response to running through neighborhoods and jumping fences to escape, a K9 unit was deployed to assist in locating the suspects. K9 Griff, along with Corporal Terry, was instrumental in finding the three individuals who were trying to avoid capture near the 9000 block of SW Picasso Place.

While one of the suspects was quickly apprehended by a patrol officer, it was K9 Griff's keen senses that led to locating the remaining culprits. The driver, identified as 18-year-old Josa Zozaya, is now facing multiple charges, including reckless driving, recklessly endangering, DUII, failure to perform the duties of a driver, and second-degree criminal mischief.

The other occupants of the vehicle were found to be juveniles and their details have not been released. The Sheriff's Office is seeking additional witnesses and is asking anyone with information to contact non-emergency dispatch at 503-629-0111, referencing case number 50-25-17942.
