The Kenner Police Department successfully apprehended a teenage suspect after residents reported suspicious activities on Thursday. According to the social media post from KennerPolice, the incident occurred when a male subject, later identified as 17-year-old Calvin Andrews, attempted to forcefully gain entry into multiple vehicles near E. Louisiana State Drive and Vintage Drive around 9:44 PM.

After receiving the 9-1-1 call, officers located Andrews in the 3700 block of E. Louisiana State Drive. Upon noticing the police, the young man chose to quickly run, leading officers on a brief chase before being taken into custody. In their communication, KennerPolice expressed gratitude, saying, "You Saw Something, You Said Something, We Thank You!! 9-1-1 for the WIN."

Andrews now faces charges that include Attempted Simple Burglary and Resisting an Officer by Flight, indicating both his intent to burglarize and his attempt to evade law enforcement, as detailed in the police department's online statement.

"Residents in the area are encouraged to review home surveillance or doorbell camera footage," the post stated. The department also cautions against confronting potential perpetrators directly, instead suggesting that individuals should "Please call 9-1-1 immediately and report it."
