
An investigation is underway after a shooting in LaPlace left one person dead and two others injured on Wednesday evening. The incident occurred in the 3100 block of English Colony Drive, located in the Cambridge subdivision, according to the St John the Baptist Parish Sheriff's Office Facebook's post.
The call of the shooting was received at precisely 6:53 p.m., the St John the Baptist Parish Sheriff's Office handling the response and the subsequent probe into the events that unfolded last night, where three individuals suffered gunshot wounds and, unfortunately, one succumbed to their injuries. Despite the severity of the situation and the ongoing investigation additional details concerning the incident have not been immediately made available to the public.
Authorities have moved to assure the community, emphasizing that there is no ongoing threat to the public and classifying the event as "an isolated incident."
