Last Friday, a man impersonated an inspection officer and committed larceny at a local Dunkin Donuts in Milford, Massachusetts. The Milford Police Department reported that they received a call at approximately 2:58 PM from the coffee shop, located at 146 South Main Street, which filed a complaint about a theft of over $600 in cash from their safe roughly an hour after the incident occurred.
According to the social media post from the Milford Police, while arriving officers began their investigation shortly after getting to the Dunkin Donuts at 3:02 PM, it was the male, acting under the guise of an inspection officer, who managed to walk away with the loot. Utilizing CCTV and Flock Safety technology, investigators at 5:35 PM identified Jamal Guinyard, a 40-year-old resident of Acushnet, MA, as their prime suspect.
An ensuing discussion with Guinyard took place at approximately 6:30 PM the same day. During the conversation, the suspect admitted his involvement in the crime. Guinyard now faces multiple charges: "LARCENY FROM BUILDING," "LARCENY UNDER $1200 BY FALSE PRETENSE," and "TRESPASSING."
