According to a report by FOX13 Memphis, the Memphis Police Department answered a distress call that came just after 12:30 p.m. from the 3400 block of Providence Drive. The injured man was promptly transported to the hospital by paramedics.
The Memphis Police are still piecing together the events that unfolded at the Bent Tree Apartments on Providence Road. "At 12:37 p.m., officers responded to a shooting on Providence Drive in the Whitehaven area," detailed a release obtained by Action News 5. At the current juncture, authorities have yet to release any information regarding potential suspects or the circumstances that led to the shooting.
The situation remains critical for the victim, and the Memphis Police Department has yet to provide details on what might have led to this act of violence.
