A man in his 30s was injured following a minor explosion at a Lemon Grove home yesterday, according to officials from the San Diego County Sheriff's Office. Deputies from the Lemon Grove Sheriff's Substation were called to the scene in the 8300 block of Broadway just before half past noon, where they, along with the Heartland Fire Department firefighters, responded to reports of the blast.
The explosion, which is said to have occurred in the living room of the residence, left the man with non-life-threatening injuries. A neighbor reportedly took him to the hospital posthaste. The Sheriff's Bomb/Arson Unit, now tasked with uncovering the cause of the incident, suggests that a propane explosion is to blame, according to the San Diego County Sheriff's Office.
