Residents in Maple Grove and across Hennepin County will soon have a chance to give new life to their worn or broken items. As winter wears on, a ripped coat or faulty kitchen appliance can quickly become more than a minor inconvenience. On Dec. 13, locals can bring those items to the Hennepin Environment Fix-It Clinic for possible repairs, as reported by the City of Maple Grove, MN - Local Government.

Hosted at the Maple Grove Community Center from noon to 4 p.m., attendees just need to bring the item that needs attention. The announcement, made on the official City of Maple Grove, MN - Local Government Facebook page, detailed that "Winter coat have a rip or tear? Blender not up to mixing your favorite smoothie?  Gather an item in your house that's just a little bit worse for the wear."

Participants will receive guided assistance to troubleshoot and repair their items, and no advance registration is required. Organizers say the effort encourages residents to take part in the repair process while reducing the amount of material headed to landfills, as per the City of Maple Grove, MN - Local Government.
