Yesterday afternoon, a fire left a multi-family house on Murray Avenue in Mariemont with serious damage and 11 residents displaced, WLWT reports. The incident occurred around 2:30 p.m. and drew a response from several fire departments, including Cincinnati, Little Miami, and Anderson Township, as noted by Local 12. Though all occupants managed to safely exit the building, one individual was hospitalized as a precaution.

Mariemont Fire Department Captain Jim Henderson described the scene to Local 12, saying, "Damage is pretty good inside. I've been in there a little bit, peeked my head in, and the damage is substantial on the inside." According to the WLWT coverage, the building housed five residential units. Henderson, who also spoke with Local12, noted that the townhome isn't habitable for the time being.

Adding to the reports, FOX19 stated that nine individuals, including a child, were among those displaced. Despite the challenges posed by the cold temperatures, firefighting efforts were not hindered, and crews diligently worked to prevent further hotspots from igniting. Captain Henderson emphasized the seriousness of the incident, saying, "Between 8 and 11 people reside here at this, and as you look at the building behind me, there are five separate residences inside this one building." He also mentioned that it could take some time to determine the fire's cause.

The American Red Cross is currently providing assistance to the eight adults and one child affected by the fire, ensuring they have basic needs met and a warm place to stay, FOX19 reports. While the cause of the blaze remains under investigation, no injuries have been reported apart from the one person who was taken to the hospital to ensure their well-being. The extent of the damage has yet to be fully assessed as investigators and homeowners are only beginning to evaluate the aftermath.
