
A business at 3271 Shelby Drive was the site of a robbery late Thursday evening. Memphis officers responded to the scene shortly after the incident was reported at approximately 9:13 p.m. The Memphis Police Department stated that a male suspect, wearing all black and carrying a handgun, approached the cashier and demanded cash.
The suspect, described as a Black male between 5’8" and 6’0" with a light complexion, was reported to be wearing a black jacket, black Nike sweatpants, and black shoes. He also wore a black face mask and purple latex gloves. After taking an undisclosed amount of money in a brown paper bag, the suspect fled on foot, heading east through the parking lot toward Tchulahoma.
Witnesses reported that the suspect urged the cashier to move quickly while collecting the money. Authorities have shared this detail, along with other information, to encourage public assistance in identifying and locating the individual responsible. The released statement confirms that the cashier was unharmed during the incident.
The Memphis Police Department is asking witnesses or anyone with information about the robbery to come forward. A tip line has been established with Crime Stoppers at 901-528-CASH (2274), where information can be submitted anonymously. No arrests have been reported in connection with the incident, and the investigation is ongoing.
