As detailed in a statement by the U.S. Marshals Service, the arrests took place Tuesday night, one of the suspects, Gabrien Rounds, a 20-year-old man, was captured in the 1500 block of Antona Place around 7:15 p.m., and he stands accused of first-degree murder, two counts of attempted first-degree murder, and employing a firearm in the commission of a dangerous felony stemming from a June 2024 incident in Castalia Heights. The task force, simultaneously casting a wide net for other criminal elements, has its hands full with clearing warrants, seizing firearms, and locating missing children, in the hope, perhaps, of restoring peace to the beleaguered community.
Alongside Rounds, the task force also ensnared China D. White, a 25-year-old alleged member of the Gangster Disciple gang, at an apartment on Pecan Lake Drive at about 9:15 p.m. Following a July 2020 murder on Barron Avenue, White faces two counts of first-degree murder and two counts of attempted first-degree murder.
