Miami Gardens experienced two tragic vehicle incidents on a single Friday afternoon. According to local 10, in the first, a child—age and gender undisclosed—was hit near Northwest 194th Street and 37th Avenue around 4 p.m. The child was airlifted to a pediatric trauma center, and their condition has not been released. Miami Gardens Police are investigating, with no word yet on potential charges.
As reported by WSVN, in a separate incident, a 15-year-old girl was rushed to Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital after being hit outside Brentwood Elementary School. A rescue helicopter transported her, and the vehicle involved sustained front-end damage. Authorities temporarily closed southbound lanes between 193rd and 195th Streets while investigating the crash, causing traffic delays.
The incidents have raised concerns about pedestrian safety, particularly near areas frequented by children and teens. Miami Gardens Police are continuing their investigations and have not released further details.
