The Michigan State Police is collecting toys and non-perishable food items through its annual "Stuff a Blue Goose" holiday campaign to support communities across the state. Since starting in 2009, the initiative has grown into a tradition, filling patrol cars with donations for those in need, according to the Michigan State Police.
"Our department is built on tradition, and the Stuff a Blue Goose donation drive is a favorite. With tremendous community support, we are able to help make a difference in the communities we serve." This year marks the 16th anniversary of the campaign, showing the ongoing commitment of both Michigan State Police and Michigan residents to help those less fortunate, as reported by the Michigan State Police.
Last year, the initiative collected over 12,000 toys, 4,000 lbs. of food, and $50,000. The "Blue Goose" events now take place at more than 30 locations across Michigan. All donations stay local and are distributed through area charities to families and individuals in need, as stated by the Michigan State Police.
