On a recent Saturday evening in Milford, a situation unfolded that prompted a swift response from local law enforcement and a temporary lockdown of the Cinemark Movie Theater. At around 5:25 p.m., the Milford Police Department, alongside the Indian Hill and Mariemont Police Departments, responded to multiple calls concerning a man seen with what appeared to be a rifle, as reported by FOX19.
Investigation at the scene revealed that the firearm in question was, in fact, an airsoft-style "BB" gun. The man identified with the BB gun was reported as being fully cooperative with the officers, a detail confirmed by all responding parties. Despite the initial alarm, the Milford Police clarified, "there was no active threat," although the Cinemark was placed on lockdown while police ensured the safety of all involved, according to a statement obtained by Local12.
The incident, which prompted concern and a sizable police presence in the theater parking lot, was captured by cameramen from WLWT, who later spoke with the man involved. In explaining his possession of the BB gun, he cited "hunting" as a reason and identified himself as an independent journalist gathering information "related to the Bible." The authorities have reported no injuries or further incidents stemming from the scare.
