A fatal collision on Saturday morning has claimed the life of a motorcyclist near the Las Vegas Strip, according to information released by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD). The incident, which took place at approximately 12:21 a.m. at the intersection of West Oakey Boulevard and Western Avenue, involved a 2023 Nissan Ariya and a 2004 Yamaha 1100 motorcycle, News 3 LV reported.

Traveling westbound on West Wyoming Avenue, turning into West Oakey Boulevard at the intersection, the driver of the Nissan, a 41-year-old woman, collided with the eastbound motorcycle as she attempted a left turn, according to Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department. The Yamaha, also operated by a 41-year-old man, reportedly struck the front of the Nissan, resulting in the ejection of the motorcyclist. Sadly, when medical responders arrived, the biker was found "beyond resuscitation and ceased life-saving efforts," KTNV shared.

The driver of the Nissan was not impaired and stayed at the scene. A passenger in the Nissan had minor injuries. This was the 156th traffic-related death investigated by Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department in 2025. Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department’s Collision Investigation Section is still investigating the crash. They are reviewing witness statements, evidence from the scene, and surveillance footage to understand what happened when the motorcycle struck the front of the car, as per KTNV.
