The report described how a routine traffic stop for an expired tag led a vigilant officer to uncover an unreported theft. The driver was later charged in connection with the alleged incident, and the merchandise was returned to Lowe's. What appeared to be a minor registration violation ultimately played a key role in identifying a suspect in a theft that had not yet been brought to the attention of law enforcement or the store.
"We’re proud of our officers’ vigilance," the Mt. Juliet Police expressed in the same post, "Their proactive efforts help keep Mt. Juliet a safe place to live, work, and shop."
