In a joint operation by the Metro Nashville Police Department (MNPD) officers and the United States Marshal Service Fugitive Task Force, Corey Adkisson, 39, was arrested at his home on Niagara Drive. The arrest took place on outstanding warrants that included felon in possession of a weapon and felony probation violation, as detailed in a release from the Nashville government website.
During the arrest, MNPD Neighborhood Safety Section detectives came in response to help dig through the investigation's facets. A loaded semi-automatic pistol, a collection of drugs - including mushrooms, cocaine, and Xanax - and a sizeable amount of cash, precisely $10,335, were seized from the premises when a search warrant was executed, uncovering the various items.
Adkisson is now facing several charges. These include felon in possession of a weapon, gun possession in the commission of a dangerous felony, and possession with intent to distribute cocaine as well as Schedule I & 4 narcotics. Set at $120,000, his bond reflects the severity of these charges, and there is an expectation that federal prosecution will follow. With a background marked by priors, Adkisson has been previously convicted for similar offenses involving cocaine and hydromorphone.
