The City of New Orleans has announced adjustments to the waste collection schedule during the Christmas holiday this year. No curbside trash or recycling collection will occur on December 25 for properties outside of the French Quarter and Downtown Development District, as per the official release by the City of New Orleans.
Understanding that this break in schedule might inconvenience some, the City advises residents and businesses in those areas to plan their waste management accordingly. Collections will shift to accommodate the holiday; trash and recycling collection for Thursday locations will happen on Friday, and, Friday locations will see their waste picked up on Saturday. It's a simple slide back, but it means that waste will linger for an extra day or two, as detailed by the City of New Orleans.
