The New Orleans Police Department is currently conducting a homicide investigation following the deaths of two males, killed by gunshot wounds, in New Orleans' Seventh District. The fatal incident, which took place in the 14700 block of Chef Menteur Highway, occurred yesterday evening. According to a statement obtained by NOPD News, officers received a call for service around 7:52 p.m. and, upon arrival, they located the two victims who were both pronounced dead at the scene.
With the investigation underway, NOPD detectives are working diligently to amass evidence and details to identify the individual or individuals responsible for this violent act, as well as to understand the underlying motive. Both victims, found at the location to have sustained gunshot wounds, had their lives abruptly ended by this unwarranted act of violence. The Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office will release the identities of the deceased and the exact cause of death once autopsies are performed and families are notified.
At this stage in the investigation, officials have not shared additional information about the crime.
